MILNROW entertained Langworthy on Saturday and bounced back from the disappointing defeat against Oldham rivals Waterhead the previous week.

A strong start by the home team meant they did not have to wait long to break through the Langworthy defence for their first try, Ryan Blake opening the scoring for Milnrow.

Great running by Gavin Brien and Steven Chadwick kept Milnrow on top and a neat kick by Wayneford Howells was skilfully picked up by Chris Brett who drove the ball over the line for Milnrow's second try.

The try was successfully converted by Rob Weatherhead.

Milnrow remained the more powerful side throughout the majority of the first half, but a momentary lapse in concentration allowed Langworthy to go over, making the half-time score 10-6 to the hosts.

The second half saw Milnrow come back stronger than ever and an impressive break by Ryan Blake left the Langworthy defence standing.

Blake handed on to Lee Wilson who continued his run to score between the posts.

Rob Weatherhead successfully converted.

Langworthy to their credit made a game of it and did not give in.

They broke through the Milnrow defence to score a second try and keep the home team on their toes.

As the match drew to a close Milnrow continued to batter the Langworthy defence and two more tries followed.

The first went to Gavin Buckley and the second to Jon Storey.

Both were converted by Rob Weatherhead to seal an excellent 28-12 win for the high-flying locals.

The man of the match award went to Steven Chadwick.
