Bamford set for Saints

LIVERPOOL St Helens visit Moorgate Avenue today (Saturday).

The visitors have had a torrid time in recent years, coming down the leagues in free fall.

Rochdale will be at full strength with David Healey on the bench.

Mark Thomas returns after injury and Guy Barlow gets the starting place at prop.

The second team, who are on a roll after seeing off Vale of Lune last weekend, travel to St Helens

Jason Bamford comes into the second row, Aaron Howarth retains his place at scrum half and they should cause all sorts of problems for the home side.

The thirds entertain Leigh, one of those sides which is difficult to judge. They can be unbeatable on their day, but they can also be vulnerable.

Captain John Finn will need to be alert in the early stages and keep the defence tight. He has the players to do the job and should force the victory.
