The under 12s also had a fine 3-2 victory over a very good Middleton Colts team.

Pearson's under 11s Rockets secured their first win. Calum Stone opened the scoring against Springhead and Jude Otamonga headed home a second.

Springhead pulled one back, but the celebrations were shortlived as Dillon Blakesley twisted and turned to hit a third for Pearsons. Jason Tighe added a fourth.

Rockets' fifth was scored by Tighe and Daniel Grant's cool finish sealed the 6-1 win. Man of the match was Jamie Davey.

Pearson Champions under nines Black went 1-0 up inside 10 seconds, when Oliver Burnham surged forward and set up Kyle Irving to slot into a bottom corner. Irving made it 2-0 when he was first to react to a loose ball.

A minute later it was 3-0 when Bradley Gartland laid the ball back for Zach Gemmell to thunder home. Irving sealed his hat-trick with a back heel flick from a long ball by Gemmell. Rhys Fallows got on the end of a Burnham corner for number five just before half time.

Within a minute of the restart Higginson was on hand to finish following a goalmouth scramble. Zach Gemmell completed the scoring from Higginson's great through ball.

Man of the match was Kyle Irving in midfield.

Pearson Champions under nines White notched a comfortable 5-0 victory away to Bolton Lads and Girls.

Denyan Longden scored a hat-trick, Kyle Morgan scored two.

Pearson Celtic under eights Black continued their unbeaten run in the league with another 2-1 win, while Pearson Celtic under eights White drew 3-3.
