Action team ready for new season

16/ 9/2005

ROCHDALE now boasts its very own African team.

The formation of the African Community Action team has been made possible by support from Rochdale MBC's Sport Development Department.

The Department helped the group secure funds for equipment and playing kit. The team, which is made up of asylum seekers, refugees, and French speaking Africans, was formed to help their integration into the community.

The team hopes to have regular matches against other African Community groups from within Greater Manchester, and against local teams. The group and team has been jointly formed by Epasa Tuanzebe, and JJ Mayalu who both live in Rochdale.

If you would like to arrange a friendly match against the team contact the Sport Development office on 01706 745119/745120.
