Saxon stars

YEARS of training have paid off for a group of Saxon Hall Karate Club's fighters.
Gemma Boardman, Lisa Boardman, Daniel Shepherd, Stacy Shepherd and Michael Ball successfully passed black belt examinations in Windsor last weekend.
Gemma, Lisa, Daniel and Stacy achieved their first dan, while Michael gained his second dan.
The examination was split into three parts - basic, kata and kumite - and was overseen by Sensei Masoa Kawasoe.
The group's success was the culmination of three years of training.
Leigh Smith, senior instructor at the club said: "It's a very good family club and everyone's proud of their achievements."
