Mayfield desperate for win

ROCHDALE Mayfield return to home soil on Saturday afternoon desperately seeking a win to keep their promotion hopes alive.

Opponents Ideal Isberg have not been the force people thought they might be, but after relegation from the Premier Division last season they could still cause problems for the home team.

Mayfield coach Shaun Gartland will be looking to build on last week's promising display at Castleford Lock Lane, but will demand a better completion rate with the ball in hand.

The match kicks off 2pm.

• MAYFIELD North West Counties continue their push for promotion with a visit to Chorley.

The reverse fixture, at the start of the season, saw Mayfield run out winners by 70 points, so the coaching staff are looking for more of the same on Saturday.

Players and supporters are asked to meet at 12pm.

• MILNROW travel down the East Lancs on Saturday to take on Leigh Harriers, a team they beat convincingly at the start of the season.

But Milnrow coach Kevin Lowe won't be taking this match lightly as he knows the Harriers have strengthened their squad in recent weeks.

He said: "Harriers have signed four or five players from Leigh Miners so it won't be easy.

"But I've got a fully-fit squad and if they play to their potential I'm confident we can take the points."

Players meet at Milnrow Cricket Club at 12.15pm.

• LITTLEBOROUGH coach Mick Keegan will be hoping to build on last week's victory over Sheffield Hillsborough when his team travel to Hoyland on Saturday.
