Kyle treble in Pearsons goal spree

PEARSON under sevens A team enjoyed a convincing 11-0 win against Chadderton Grasshoppers thanks to a hat-trick from player of the match Kyle Irving.

Other scorers were Bradley Gartland (2), Oliver Burnham (2), Keira Walsh, Connor Charlesworth, Rhys Fallows and Zach Gemmell.

The under eights beat top-of-the-table Radcliffe Borough 3-1 away.

Naomi Hildersley had an outstanding game, as did Liam Blackesley and player of the match Jack Duffy.

Pearson under 11s started the new year as they ended 2003 with a hard-fought 4-3 victory against Broadway Celtic.

This made it four wins on the bounce.

Adam McNally opened the scoring for Pearsons, but two quick goals put Celtic into the lead. Mcnally's second sent the teams in level at half-time.

Broadway again took the lead with only five minutes to go, but Conor McDermott got on the end of a Joshua Walker corner to level the scores and another Walker flag-kick was deflected in to give Pearsons a narrow victory.

Dougy McLennan was named player of the match.

A depleted under 15s lost 6-3 at Littleborough, while the under 16s lost 4-2 to Norden St Clement's despite goals from Scott and Walker.
