A HAT-TRICK from Jess Sutcliffe proved enough to make it two wins out of two for Boro over the Salford students.

Sutcliffe pounced early to slot in a rebound off the Salford goalkeeper and she was unlucky not to increase her tally as the visiting stopper made a handful of excellent saves.

She was rewarded for her persistence when, after excellent work in midfield by Amy Flynn, Nikki Thompson and Hannah James, she was well placed to sweep home.

Littleborough remained on top until the break, with Lisa Derbyshire, Lauren Staveley and Stacey Ramsbottom switching possession around nicely.

The second half proved a different story as Salford came out strongly and pinned Boro in their own half. Amy Pearson and Susanne White provided some relief with neat passing moves, but it was left to Sutcliffe to complete her hat-trick and the scoring.

The Littleborough lasses would like to thank Brain and Denise from The Plough for providing the after-match refreshments.

Boro's first team managed a 2-2 draw against Moss Park seconds, in Chorlton, despite lacking some key players.

New signing Nadine Merabi controlled midfield superbly and earned the player of the match award.

Captain Julie Mercer opened the scoring from a slick short corner routine and Susanne White converted a set-piece to restore the lead after Park had pulled level.

Unfortunately Boro conceded a late goal and had to be happy with a share of the spoils.
