Griff on the Mersey beat

TREVOR Jones, Rochdale AFC's head of youth scouting, was on Merseyside again last weekend to snap up two promising youngsters for the club's Centre of Excellence team.
But his biggest signing came when Steve Griffin, a former YTS trainee at Spotland, agreed to become Dale's new Merseyside scout.
Griffin, the newly-appointed manager of Liverpool Schools under 15s, was at Spotland during the managerial reigns of Danny Bergara, Dave Sutton and Terry Dolan.
