Shirt presented to school

26/ 9/2003

ENGLAND schools' international Michael Ratu, a year 11 student at Falinge Park, has presented his England shirt to the school.

Michael won his cap in March when he played for England schools against Wales in Aberavon.

More than 30 family and close friends made the 400 mile trip to watch him and even current Great Britain coach David Waite remarked on the Ratu support.

Michael, who is currently starring for Premiership side Higginshaw at stand off/loose forward, has been selected to attend The Rugby League National Camp at St Mary's College in Sheffield, in October, for a week.

While there he will benefit from the latest up to date training and conditioning techniques. It is also part of the selection process for an international fixture against France next Easter.

Michael trains with Wigan Warriors where he is in his third and final year of a scholarship.

Falinge Park will frame the shirt and display it in the school's recently refurbished reception area.
