Simpson to drop himself?

ROCHDALE'S Paul Simpson could leave himself out of the squad for Saturday's visit to Torquay.

The Observer that David Flitcroft will replace the player-manager as he opts for a 3-5-2 formation, with Simpson watching from the sidelines in a bid to better assess how the team performs.

Matt Doughty and Lee Duffy are expected to operate as wing-backs, with Gareth Griffiths, Shane Cansdell-Sherriff and either Wayne Evans or Richard Jobson as the three centre-backs.
