Boro lift Burton Cup

CRICKET: LITTLEBOROUGH beat Walsden in a colsely-contested Burton Cup final at Hare Hill.

On Sunday Walsden batted first and were bowled out for 87. Littleborough had reached 5 for 1 when rain brought the game to an early finish.

When play resumed on Monday Littleborough suffered a collapse and were struggling at 12 for 5. Dave Thewlis and Lee Kelly took the score to 30 beforew Thewlis departed for 13.

Mark Proctor joined Kelly at the wicket and they guided Littleborough home.
