Edwards is an icon to Ronaldo!

IT SEEMS Rochdale goalkeeper Neil Edwards has become something of a fashion icon for international football stars.

For Brazil and Inter Milan striker Ronaldo sported a new hairstyle for Brazil's World Cup semi-final clash with Turkey on Wednesday. Ronaldo shaved all but the front section of his hair off for his new style.

But that was something Edwards did almost 12 months ago, at the start of the 2001/02 season. So you could say the £18 million man is a bit behind the times.

However, his new haircut did the trick as he scored the only goal as Brazil beat Turkey to fire his country into the World Cup final for the seventh time in their history.

Brazil will face Germany in the final on Sunday in Yokohama.
