Miskella to play captain's role

He will replace Gar Hunter who steps down after one season in charge.

It is likely that former captain Chris Dearden will return from Todmorden as vice captain, to assist Miskella in his task.

Last season Australian professional Lee Carseldine had to return home early due to a foot injury.

He has since been in prolific form in Australia, and scored a double century against New Zealand.

But he recently had another operation on his troublesome foot injury, and is expected to be out of action for a month.

The Boro' spokesman added: "We have spoken to Lee and we are confident he will return next season. This is good news for the club and for cricket supporters throughout the Central Lancashire League."

It is believed that Carseldine's predecessor, Clinton Perren, will not be returning to Lancashire League club Rishton, and that he is currently seeking a club.

Milnrow's professional in the last campaign, Goldwyn Prince, has signed up for Moddershall in the North Staffordshire and South Cheshire League.

• Another former CLL player returning to the fold' next season will be former Rochdale pace bowler Robin Jackson.

Jackson spent last summer as a colleague of Dearden at Todmorden, whom he joined with fellow Rochdale fast bowler Ste Oddy, but says he intends to return to Redbrook next year.
