DALE winger Kieron Durkan in the thick of the action during the FA Cup victory.
Oliver's late late show sets up Dale for more FA Cup glory
28/11/2001
Oliver's 92nd minute strike earned his team a trip to either Blackpool or Newport, but it was a close call against the battling non-leaguers.
With extra-time looming, the Rochdale man picked up a loose ball and, from 20-yards out, his skidding drive beat visiting keeper Darren Acton just inside his left-hand post.
And it was Acton who had frustrated the home side throughout the game, as he pulled off two acrobatic saves from Rochdale skipper Gary Jones.
On the whole it was a frustrating night for the Division Three side, as Tamworth's organisation and determination restricted them to shots from long range.
It took all the experience of Rochdale's Richard Jobson and Gareth Griffiths to prevent the visitors from snatching a shock win, as they took advantage of Rochdale's frustration to push forward in the later stages.
It was a relieved Rochdale crowd, who together with an excellent following from Tamworth, gave the non-league outfit a well-deserved standing ovation as they left the field.
