Golfers joined the scramble to congratulate big-hitting Lewis

At the tender age of 10 he's still got a lot of growing to do.

But Springfield Park Golf Club's only junior member produced a sensational effort in a recent four-man Texas scramble when he hit one of his tee shots within 12 feet of a 142-yard, par three hole.

That shot helped his team, which included Ian Wallis, Jonathon Phillips, Peter Owens and Crossgates Primary School pupil Lewis, to finish in first place, ahead of the other 23 teams in the competition.

In total, the team made birdies at the third, fourth, eighth, 12th and 18th holes.
