Rochdale team get among the medals

The 20th anniversary Greater Manchester Youth Games took place earlier this month at Sportcity, Manchester, with Rochdale well represented as usual.
More than 200 athletes competed in 18 different events on the day and once again Rochdale borough came back with a host of medals.
Highlight of the day was Rochdale’s gold in the judo individual event, pictured above.
The girls teams did particularly well, collecting silver medals in the under 13s netball, under 15s netball, under 13s cricket, 15s girls cricket and table tennis.
The boys basketball team also returned home with silver.
Rochdale borough collected bronze medals in the athletics event, girls basketball, bocchia and under 13s girls hockey.
