Comfortable win for Catholic Club

ROCHDALE Catholic Club faced a winning target of 209 when they met Fothergills at Rock Nook last weekend.
They got there for the loss of only two wickets as Ahmed blasted 81 and Danny Mulkeen junior chipped in with 56.
Shah had earlier taken five for 63. Dastgheer was the pick of Fothergills’ batsmen with his knock of 57.
It was a day to forget for Rochdalians seconds. They did reasonably well in holding Elton Vale seconds to 135 for nine, but they then crashed to 72 all out.
It was even worse for Rochdalians’ first team when they travelled to play Clifton thirds on Sunday.
Clifton totalled a modest 132. Rogers then took seven for six as Dalians crumbled to an all out 27.
Sabir blasted 123 for Fothergills’ seconds in their 225 for eight at Greenmount. Hawkrigg then took five for 30, but Greenmount thirds held out at 122 for nine.
Jalil scored 50 in Rochdale thirds’ narrow home defeat by Roytonians.
