Brooks rules the Solos

THERE was a good turnout at Hollingworth Lake on Sunday, with four out of five fleets represented.

The first races brought convincing wins for Nick Brook in the Solos and Colin Knott and Richard Long in the GP14s.

Dave Smith sailed all three races in the Mirrors. He was crew in the third when his son William, 8, took the helm.

Merlin Rocket

• Race 1: 1 S Bates and A Hilton; 2 S Crook and J Cockcroft; 3 L Bithell and L Ashworth.
• Race 2: 1 S Crook and J Cockcroft; 2 J Milner and T Greenhalgh; 3 M and R Watts.
• Race 3: 1 L Bithell and L Ashworth; 2 M and R Watts; 3 S Bates and A Hilton.

GP14

• Race 1: 1 C Knott and R Long; 2 P Bramwell; 3 J Mellor and K Doherty.
