Derby day at Bamford

LOCAL rivals Rossendale are at Bamford today, having been promoted to the North West League this season.

They made a good start to the season with a convincing win over Lymm last week, and with several new signings they will be looking to build on that today.

Rochdale coach Mick Gould sticks with the same side that convincingly beat Liverpool St Helens last Saturday, but makes changes on the bench. Van Zyl goes back to the seconds along with veteran Chris Kane. Gaz Adams, Phil Cowburn and Paul Swindon replace them.

The second team went down to a narrow defeat against Leigh last week. This afternoon they make the journey to Whitchurch, a first for a Rochdale side, to face an unknown quantity.

The thirds have another tough fixture. After taking on Sale seconds last week they travel to play Broughton. The fourth team also plays a team from a higher league when they take on Burnley thirds.
