Hawks find a new home as Rakewood deal is agreed

WOMEN’S rugby league club Hillside Hawks are on the move for hopefully the last time
They will now be playing and training at Rakewood, home of Littleborough Rugby Union Club.
Since their formation 10 years ago Hawks have enjoyed a nomadic existence, with bases at Mayfield, Rochdale Rugby Union Club, Firgrove, Oldham St Annes and Balderstone Park.
During the closed season Littleborough Rugby Union invited Hawks to have a look at their facilities and discuss their future plans which they were keen for Hillside to be a part of.
Hillside are now ranked fourth in the country and have five players in the England Squad who are hoping to travel to Australia in November for the Women’s World Cup.
The club is recruiting players for next season. No experience is required, but being physically fit would help.
Those interested in having a go can visit Rakewood on Tuesday nights at 7.30pm, or on Sunday afternoons.
