Agard hat-trick seals final victory

MATTHEW Moss High School’s Year 9 rugby team was crowned Rochdale Schools champions last week after beating St Cuthbert’s in the final.
It was an excellent game, with Moss player of the match Caryl Agard scoring three tries.
The Year 11 team was beaten in their final.
The Year nines represented Rochdale in the English Schools Championship and were beaten 38-28 by Parkland School from Chorley.
Caryl Agard was again chosen as player of the match.
A school spokeman said: “Matthew Moss would like to thank Darren Rogers from Rochdale Hornets for the work he has done with all the teams.”
Rugby practices are held on Monday – Year 9; Wednesday – Year 7 and Year 8; Thursday – Year 10 and Year 11.
There are more matches scheduled for the new year when the school will be looking to continue its successful campaign.
