Former Hornets player dies

FORMER Hornets player-coach Norman Harris, grandfather of Royton-born international star, Iestyn Harris, has died at the age of 89.
Welsh-born Norman, a talented centre, also played for Oldham and Leigh just after the Second World War.
After four top-class seasons at Watersheddings, Harris moved to Leigh and then joined Hornets at the start of the 1952/53 season, making his debut, curiously against his former team Oldham, in a Law Cup match in August 1952.
In all, Harris made 57 appearances for Hornets, scoring nine tries before he finally hung up his boots in October 1954.
