Salford City Reds 68 Rochdale Hornets 0

17/ 3/2008

ROCHDALE Hornets couldn't live with the might of Salford as they were hammered in their final National Rail Cup group game at the Willows.

The Reds led 20-0 at the break thanks to four tries from Karl Fitzpatrick, Andy Ballard, John Wilshere and one from Stefan Ratchford.

Hornets showed plenty spirit and were unlucky to have a seemingly good try from Chris Hough ruled out. It was one-way traffic after the break.

More tries quickly followed from Matt Gardner, Paul White, Craig Stapleton, Stuart Littler, Richard Myler (2) and a brace for the pacy Ballard.

Ratchford scored Reds' 12th and final try in front of 3,758 fans.
