Safety and silverware

15/ 3/2008

HORNETS and Northern Rail joined forces on Wednesday to deliver the Northern Rail Momentum project to more than 180 Year 7 pupils at Matthew Moss High School.

Northern Rail community liaison manager Chris Leech delivered the company’s rail safety message to the youngsters, while Hornets gave their young fans the opportunity to meet players Benji Lloyd, Mark Brocklehurst and Danny Knight. The Hornets’ trio took along the Northern Rail Cup.

An additional incentive for the pupils was the launch of a Northern Art competition.

Budding artists have been invited to come up with a design, taking inspiration from Hornets and the train company.

The winning work will be sent to a graphic designer who will be tasked with putting the artwork onto a canvas. This will be displayed at Spotland for all to see.
