Top of the table Rochdale returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Crewe at Spotland.
Chris O’Grady, the Dale striker who missed a sitter from close range in the 1-0 defeat to Bury last time out, made amends with a terrific goal just eight minutes into the game.
Frontline partner Chris Dagnall saw a shot parried by Steve Phillips and O’Grady pounced on the loose ball, volleying it into the roof of the net from 10 yards.
Dagnall had a shot cleared off the line by Harry Worley, while Phillips produced good saves to deny O’Grady and Dagnall before the half was out.
Crewe had their chances in an entertaining first 45 minutes, Steve Schumacher testing Frank Fielding with a long-range free kick and Luke Murphy firing over the top after good approach play from John Brayford and Schumacher.
Dario Gradi’s men almost had good claims for a penalty turned away when Scott Wiseman challenged Byron Moore.
An own goal by Mark Tootle seconds after the interval all but wrapped up the result while Phillips denied the hosts a third, saving Kallum Higginbotham’s long-range effort and a diving header from Craig Dawson.

Actually I follow THREE clubs, Dale being one (as I have a good friend living in Summit) and Stirling Albion the third. I just can't accept your constant damning comments on the other thread, sorry

If you had read the Man City Forum.... you would have seen that for over a year I mention the amazing things happening at Rochdale every week in comparison to the under achievement at City. I plead for City fans to go and watch Rochdale and I always praise Keith Hill and Flitcroft .....so for you to question my association with Rochdale is funny!
I have supported Man City all my life but at the age of 15, Stephen Bywaters Dad asked me to do the Goldbond.....I worked for Rochdale for over 4 years and spent a lot of my time fundraising and helping the club in any way I could. That was during the days of 1996 when Relegation fights meant the club was attracting 1800 fans a game and the football was awful.
I have always looked out for Dale every since.
Get behind them ...... most people have two clubs they support (a prem league club and a local / inferior side). I am proud to associate myself with Rochdale as well , shame so many others aren't!

O'Gradys appalling miss will never be forgotten but he has showed he is still a quality player at this level and he will continue to score crucial goals for dale. Bournemouth and Rotherham failed to win today so we put more room between the teams at the top.
Notts County look like they will be in the top two come the end of the season - they are two points behind if they win their games in hand and they have a great goal diff like Rochdale. I think it will all come down to who wins at meadow lane - that's a real 6 pointer and should decide who will be champions!
No goals in the last fur games for Dagnall and only 2 in the last 10 games is a concern.... he is better than that and needs to start finding the back of the net more often.
