ROCHDALE squandered a wonderful opportunity to stretch their lead at the top of League Two to eight points after Aldershot equalised with three minutes left.

Chris Dagnall had given Keith Hill's men a 74th minute lead after a neat turn on the edge of the box. He raced towards the on-rushing Jaimez-Ruiz to lift the ball into the back of the net.

Louie Soares scored from close range in the 87th minute to earn a draw for Aldershot.

Hill said: "A point increases our lead at the top, it was a great second half performance with a great goal from Dagnall and theirs was a good goal too.

"Just before they equalised, Dagnall had a wonderful opportunity and on another day we would have won 2-0."
