Dale chief executive Colin Garlick has urged supporters to stay off the Spotland pitch after the final league game of the season today.

"Following the game both sets of players will leave the field of play as usual but, providing there has been no pitch invasion, Keith Hill and his squad will come back out and do a lap of honour," he said.

"It is illegal to encroach upon the field of play at any football stadium and our groundsman and his team need to prepare a playing

surface for a massive game in the next few weeks, so having several hundred people running on it would not be ideal."
