Rochdale 1 Bury 3

Mike Brookes
10/10/2007

ROCHDALE boss Keith Hill has asked the Spotland fans for patience after a second home defeat to Bury in quick succession.

Dale crashed out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at the hands of neighbours Bury despite opening the scoring through Rory Prendergast.

The Shakers hit back through Glynn Hurst (two) and Domaine Rouse.

Hill said: "The only positive I can take from tonight is that we haven't lost three points. I can sense that the natives are getting restless and their apprehension is seeping on to the pitch.

"The players are young and, at this moment, fragile. They know that they are letting themselves down but they need support.

"I understand that the fans are hurting but we need patience because if the players start to hide on the pitch we will really be in trouble."
