Bury 1 Rochdale 1

26/ 4/2008

BURY'S quest for a sixth successive home win was dashed late on after Adam Le Fondre's equaliser for Dale.

Earlier, Nathan Stanton was sent off after 29 minutes for a professional foul on Elliott Bennett.

Dale held on until the 55th minute but then Nicky Adams broke the deadlock having been set up by Andy Bishop.

Both sides were down to 10 men when Ben Futcher was sent off for a second bookable offence after 77 minutes, and Dale forced an equaliser late on.

Paul Scott brought down Rene Howe and Le Fondre kept his nerve from the spot to ensure the game ended all square.

Dale got a point they did not deserve at Bury. The home side were the better team and should be a powerfully challenger next season on this showing.
