Whitemoss paves way to victory

ROBERT Whitemoss hit 66 to help Littleborough seconds to a home win over Clifton seconds last Saturday.

Boro totalled 274 for six then restricted Clifton to 226 for eight despite the efforts of Liam Dorsey who scored 98 and Ian Morris who scored 55.

Thomas Culshaw took four for 62.

Nathan Sinkinson scored 53 for Milnrow, but the rest of his side, extras included, managed only 44 more runs against Norden at Woodhouse Lane. Gareth Fleming took four for 35.

John Fawkes (38) and Blair Patterson (34 not out) saw Norden to 98 for one.

Top scorers were Unsworth thirds who rattled up 358 for five away to Monton and Weaste. Former Milnrow player Saeed blasted 152.

Scott Taylor was unbeaten on 68 in Monton's reply of 231 for eight.

Stuart Fitton, with 113, guided Middleton to a total of 294 against Royton who replied with 249 (David Wilson 98).

David Gaskin scored 84 for Ashton in their 231 for seven against Walsden, but the Gilford’s (Oliver 88 and Eliot 57) had earlier provided Walsden with a winning 266 for five.

Milnrow had better luck on Sunday when an unbeaten 53 from Kenyon helped them to a score of 143 for five. Oliver Hope had earlier taken five for 52 as Ashton were bowled out for 142.

Tim Astley scored 61 for Littleborough in their 247 for nine at Unsworth, but Anwar was unbeaten on 106 as Unsworth won by six wickets.

Rochdale totalled 267 but fell 33 short of Monton and Weaste’s 300 which was mainly due to 110 from Joshua Lenihan. P Butterworth was Rochdale's top scorer with 52.

Mark Woodward (105) and Dan Fish (72) rattled up the runs for Royton in their home win over Radcliffe for whom Steve Dalton took five for 66.

Clifton piled up 336 for five against Oldham who managed 195 in reply.

I Yathahugoda was 110 not out, Liam Dorsey scored 101, and Walsh chipped in with 59.

Michael Pritchard took five for 39 and Ian Bird scored 65 in Norden’s six-wickets win over Werneth (160 all out).
