Home ties for holders

NORDEN and trophy holders Heywood could be at home in every round of next summer’s John Willie Lees Wood Cup down to the final.

The first draw round has given Norden a home tie against Werneth.

Rochdale will be away to Middleton, Milnrow will go to Crompton and Littleborough will entertain Oldham. The big one of the first round is a repeat of last season’s final – Heywood v Unsworth.

The full draw is:

Round One (1 June)

Monton and Weaste v Radcliffe; Heywood v Unsworth; Ashton v Clifton; Middleton v Rochdale; Royton v Walsden; Littleborough v Oldham; Norden v Werneth; Crompton v Milnrow

Round Two (22 June)

Match One: Ashton or Clifton v Middleton or Rochdale. Match Two: Crompton or Milnrow v Royton or Walsden; Match Three: Norden or Werneth v Monton and Weaste or Radcliffe. Match four: Heywood or Unsworth v Littleborough or Oldham.

Semi-finals (6 July)

Winners match four v Winners match two; Winners match three v Winners match one.

The final will be played at The Coppice, Werneth on Sunday 3 August.

Matches in all rounds will start at 1.30pm.
