'We're wiping away the 70s'

PLANS to transform the town centre have been unveiled. Buildings only 30 years old – including the unpopular Black Box – would be flattened in the £200M development, which planners claim would make Rochdale ‘first class for shoppers’.

Plan 1 - Ask / Sultan

ASK Property Developments has joined forces with Sultan Properties, owners of the Wheatsheaf Centre, for the town centre plans. They hope to centralise and revamp the shopping facility.

Plan 2 - Valad Developments

AUSTRALIAN property group Valad believes its plans credit different areas of Rochdale with different values.

Plan 3 - Wilson Bowden Development

WILSON Bowden Developments has plans for a new opening to the retail area called John Bright Circle.
