Carjackers leave trail of mayhem

CARJACKERS left a trail of destruction in their wake after snatching a brand new car from a terrified couple.

The drama began at Morrison's supermarket, where the two had stopped for fuel only minutes after buying the Mazda on Tuesday afternoon.

As the husband paid for the petrol, a man disguising his face with a jumper leapt into the driver's seat and made repeated threats to the wife before she got out of the vehicle.

He then made off towards Turf Hill where he is thought to have been joined by a second man.

But a police pursuit brought the getaway to an abrupt end when the Mazda crashed into two patrol cars and a garden wall in Turf Hill Road.

The crash left one policeman with minor injuries, with his vehicle declared a write-off.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the carjacking, which happened at about 2.30pm.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to call 0161 856 8635.

I feel for the couple who experienced that horrible day, i dont think that there is a good chase in any stolen car chase, if you have a family our children then you'd understand. Thay will both get what thay deserve, "THUGS". :)

I agree with the poster who said people would start taking the law into there own hands. I am suprised it hasn't happened already. People are getting sick of these gangs and untouchable youths. Something has to be done before we have anarchy.
