Armed gang terrorise victim in double attack

A ROCHDALE businessman says he is being terrorised by hardened criminals who have carried out two vicious attacks on him.

The 46-year-old was ambushed by three thugs armed with pieces of wood and clad in Army-style clothes and balaclavas as he got into his top-of-the-range Audi at the B & Q store at Sandbrook Park.

He believes they are the same men who charged at him with machetes outside his home in Todmorden the day before.

"It is like something you see on Crimestoppers which you would never think would happen to you," said the man, who runs a business in Rochdale, but is too afraid to reveal his name publicly.

"I had just arrived home from work on Monday when the first attack happened.

"I had just got out of my car when this gang appeared with machetes and demanded my car keys. Luckily, I was able to run inside and locked myself in."

Three days later, while visiting Sandbrook Park, he was confronted by the thugs again.

"As I returned to my car four masked men approached wearing Army gear. They set about me and I threw my keys into the shop entrance but one of the men charged through the crowd to get them.

"There were between 20 and 30 people stood around watching them attack me.

"The gang then sped off in the car, leaving me in a pool of blood."

He was rushed to hospital with facial injuries but is now back in work. His car was recovered near the Heywood junction of the M62.

Meanwhile, Detective Constable Ian Fear is appealing for anyone who witnessed the attack at B & Q to call him on 0161 856 4644.

He said: "Apparently, there was a large group of people watching the attack who did not speak to the police.

"We are keen to speak to anyone who saw the group, especially if they know how they arrived at Sandbrook Park."

Does 'Hang Them' honestly think that the police haven't looked at the CCTV? Of course they have! They just want to know if anybody had any further information, it's called investigating, or would he prefer the police do half a job and not speak to witnesses?

Why aren't the police studying cctv to see how these scum arrived...

Oh sorry I guess they only study cctv if you've been speeding..
