It’s time to pick your little star

28/11/2006

THE waiting is over. After pictures taken, heats entered and votes cast, the final of the Rochdale Observer Baby of the Year competition 2006 is here.

And what a final it is. We’ve got 14 entries, featuring 15 beautiful babies.

Whatever the outcome all 15 can be described as winners, having made their way through heats and semi-finals to reach the Grand Final. But only one will be able to claim the coveted title of Baby of the Year.

Due to an administrative error two babies were included in the toddler competition and as a result we have expanded the final from its original line-up of 12.

It couldn’t be easier to vote for who you think is the bonniest baby.

To vote, send in the form printed in this week's newspaper by Wednesday 13 December. Multiple votes can be in one envelope but photocopies are not allowed.

Votes from the first two rounds aren’t counted towards the final so every baby has a chance of winning.

And to give you every chance of voting in our competition, we’ll be re-printing the voting form next week.

Meanwhile, the final of the Rochdale Observer Toddler of the Year competition takes place on Saturday.

The 12 terrific toddlers who have made it through are: Ella Spence, Newbold; Adam Jones, Newhey; Neve Hill, Castleton; Morgan Hughes, Rochdale; Connor Neill, Shawclough; Casey Davies, Rochdale; Rachel Richardson, Kirkholt; Morgan Goulding, Newhey; Lily Hyland, Littleborough; Lydia Burke, Spotland; Haydn Broadhurst, Falinge and Courtney Hickey, Brotherod.

PLEASE NOTE: You can only vote via the Observer newspaper so don't delay buy your paper today!

IMOGEN ZALLMANN is my choice for Baby of the Year. She has a happy face with fabulous blue eyes and makes me smile when I saw the photo
