Horror of sick animal slaughter

COLD-hearted vandals who broke into an allotment kicked two ducks to death and tried to set a goat alight.

Three rabbits had to be put down after having grease sprayed in their faces and now there are fears that their seven offspring will not survive without them.

Ken Tippler, the owner of one of the allotments in Bay Street, Foxholes, has since learned that the vandals had drop-kicked two chickens over a fence.

"The people who did this are sick," said Mr Tippler. "They are sub-human. I have never come across such cruelty before."

The vandals struck on Sunday night and Mr Tippler found a scene of devastation.

He was forced to put down the three rabbits immediately after he found them struggling to breathe through the grease.

He said: "They had seven young who won't be able to feed, so will not survive.

"I also found two of my ducks had been kicked to death and I was told the vandals had drop-kicked two chickens and then tried to set a live goat alight.

"I've bred the rabbits for 20 years from the same family but I had to put them down.

"It was horrendous and I can't get my head round their cruelty."

Mr Tippler criticised the police response. He claimed they made repeat promises to visit the site, but never showed up.

He said: "They were due to show up on Sunday at 7.30pm, but never did.

"I called four times on Monday and they still didn't come and I called again at 8pm Monday, but up to noon on Tuesday no one turned up. I've not even had a phone call from the police.

But Detective Inspector Daryl Chadwick said: "An officer went to the allotments on Tuesday and items have been seized for forensic examination.

"The incident is being looked at at the moment but it has left Mr Tippler angry and upset and will be of concern to local residents."

Catching these criminals should be given top priority. The potential they have to kill humans is shown by thier behavoir to kill defensless animals. Also they are cowards, even more dangeous.

I wonder if the thugs that carried out this crime would like the same things done to them, no i thought not, well that should be there punishment. This country is far too soft it's no wonder people commit crime these days, they just get off scott free. It's about time the police, the government and the courts stamped down some serious punishment on these mindless idiots. Rant over!
