MILES and smiles... Margaret Ward Court residents with their 12-mile long knitting.

IT was a case of ready, set, knit at Margaret Ward Court when elderly residents took part in the Macmillan Miles Challenge.
They were challenged to complete a mile of their favourite activity to help raise cash for cancer sufferers.
It could have been running, skipping, walking or rollerskating.
But the residents at the Wellfield Street sheltered accommodation plumped for one of their more skilful pastimes - knitting.
And the result of their hard work is a colourful array of knitted produce measuring a whopping 12 miles long. This will now be divided up, made into blankets and packed off to Romania to help the needy.
Sue Hanson, scheme manager at Margaret Ward Court, said: "At the moment they've knitted 119 strips and altogether it measures out at 12 miles."
"It is all in different colours so it looks like Joseph's technicolour dreamcoat."
