Don't leave it too late to make a very important date

ROBYN Brooks Appeal calendars have been selling well but there are still a few copies left so make sure you go out and get one before it's too late.

They feature pictures of well-known Rochdale folk in poses which you might not expect, including actress Sue Devaney, Rochdale Observer Face of the Year winner Michelle Marsh and Milnrow amateur Rugby League Club.

Fund-raising window cleaner Moggy, the Shamrocks Tug'o' war team, Page Three girl Louise Thompson, other Face of the Year entrants Natalie Jary, Jade Dawson and Leanne Wild are also in there.

The line up is completed by Chicago Rock Café staff, Rochdale pantomime director Colin Meredith, the Timber Boyz, body builder Seamus Ruddy, staff from Springhill Hospice and students from Manchester.

Calendars are still available for a donation of £5 from the following outlets: Crossley's estate agents, Yorkshire Street; Chicago Rock Café, Nelson Street; Tantastic and Harrison's newsagents, both Halifax Road; Ashworth's newsagents, Sunsation and Poppies' florists, all Whitworth Road; and of course the Rochdale Observer's Drake Street office.

Funds raised from the calendar will go towards Robyn's treatment for neuroblastoma cancer at New York's Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre.

With more than 50 people having their photographs taken for the calendar Observer reporter Michael Byrne's picture failed to make it. Never mind, there's always next year!
