Couple split after night of TV ‘fame’

THE top reality TV show that made the Bardsleys infamous has put another Rochdale family under the microscope.

The Williams - Sharon and boyfriend Paul and Sharon's three children - are the third family from the borough to be filmed for the Channel 4 programme 'Wife Swap'.

They followed in the footsteps of Liz and Peter Hughes from Littleborough and, most famously, Lizzy and Mark Bardsley from Milnrow in September 2003.

Monday night's show saw Sharon help to salvage the relationship between Brian and Karen Jones from Norfolk.

But her own relationship with Paul ended after the making of the show.

Sharon locked horns with the regimental Brian, who ran his home like 'a boot camp' and enforced military-style discipline on his wife and their four children - 11-year-old twins Pia and Jordan, 13-year-old Kingsley and four-year-old Brandon.

After standing up to the demanding Brian, Sharon walked out of the project a day early when he failed to abide by her own rules.

In Rochdale Karen battled to bring some respect into the relationship between ballroom dancing Paul and Sharon's streetwise children - 14-year-old James, 13-year-old Leon and 11-year-old Olivier, who argued that 'normal men go the gym'.

Sharon and the children have now moved out of Paul's house, which they had shared for six months and they have set up a home of their own.

She said: "My kids don't need a stepdad. I can do both jobs."

What a shame, especially after Peter and Liz Hughes have split up also. They were such a lovely couple too and did so much for the community, especially Peter. Also Liz is so nice, well mannered and well spoken. What a shame I hope they dont move out of the area. We will miss them.
