TEN children’s choirs take to the stage at Gracie Fields Theatre on Sunday 14 June for the annual ‘Voices for Hospice Concert’.

The event is established as one of the best showcases for young talent in the borough.

Springhill Hospice fund-raising manager Ian Jenkins said: "The theme of this year’s concert is ‘Roll up, Roll up’, so the audience can expect songs about the circus, carnival and fun fair. If last year’s concert is anything to go by, we expect a sell-out. I would strongly advise people to buy their tickets as soon as possible."

Shining in the spotlight for Springhill are primary school choirs from St Patrick’s, St Vincent’s, Whittaker Moss, Holy Trinity and Tonacliffe. They join Rochdale Boys’ Choir and Rochdale Boys’ Choir and Middleton Youth Choir are also making their debut.

Rochdale Youth Wind Orchestra will provide accompaniment and Bacup-based actor Eric Potts once again comperes the evening, which starts at 7pm.

Tickets for the concert are available now, price £5 for adults, £3 concesssions and £15 for a family ticket (admitting two adults and two concessions from the participating schools, as well as Touchstones, Rochdale Music Service and Springhill Hospice.
