A COUNCIL worker cooked up a selection of tasty treats and homemade jams to raise over £1,000 for Springhill Hospice.
Linda Rhodes, aged 56, pledged her support for the charity in memory of her late father, former mayor Arnold Bagnall, who was a stalwart supporter of the hospice and spent his final days there.
The Wellfield resident sold her mouthwatering cakes and preserves to colleagues at the Impact Partnership and has raised £1,035 over the past year.
She said: "I really enjoyed making everything at home as it gave me something to do on winter nights.
"I chose to support the hospice because they cared for my dad before he died nine years ago and really helped make him as comfortable as possible, as well as helping the whole family deal with what was happening.
"It’s a fantastic place and everyone in Rochdale seems to know someone who has been touched by their work so it’s close to many people’s hearts."
Last month, she also took part in the Observer fun run in aid of the hospice.
