Firm is talking the language of care

TRANSLATING goodwill into cash, a local firm providing interpreters raised £340 for the hospice appeal.
Millennium Translations of Yorkshire Street asked interpreters to donate £5 each and the company agreed to match their contributions.
The fund-raiser held particular significance for Muslims at the company as it coincided with the holy month of Ramadan, during which people are encouraged to support charities.
The event was also a chance to let people of different communities know about the work of the hospice.
Director Mohammed Zaman said the firm always makes charitable donations at this time of the year. It has supported a number of causes, including earthquake victims in Kashmir and Pakistan but it was felt a local charity should be the recipient this time.
He said: "A lot of local organisations are sponsoring this cause because charity begins at home and you need to support the local charities. Friends of mine have been in there and they were very well looked after. You can’t take away their illness, but you can do something to help in their last few days. They do a very good job."
