Appeal total goes up and up

YOU’RE fantastic! That’s the message to everyone who’s supported the Observer campaign in this 25th anniversary year of fundraising for Springhill Hospice - and in the process brought the new total up to £19,000.
It’s been a great couple of weeks for our appeal, which was launched in May and aims to refurbish to patient bays in the hospice at a cost of £25,000 each.
With £19,000 already in the bag - and we know that more donations are on their way - it won’t be long before there’s enough money for the first project. Three patient bays, which accommodate three beds each, are waiting to be refurbished.
Among the donations to be handed in to the Observer this week was a very generous one from Joe Pollitt, of Lowther Road.
He recently celebrated his 60th birthday but rather than presents, Mr Polliitt asked friends and family for donations to Springhill Hospice in memory of ‘ Our Craig’. Craig Pollitt was just 24 years old when he died 11 years ago in Springhill Hospice.
