It's a grand gig

MUSICIANS and partygoers at the town’s first New Roch Revolution Live raised more than £1,000 for the Observer’s charity of the year.
The best bands from Rochdale put on some show-stopping performances during the August bank holiday weekend.
Money raised on the door, from raffle tickets and in collection buckets, will be donated to the Observer’s Can You Spare a Minute campaign for the hospice.
Taking to the stage were The Brightsparks, The Microtones, Wolfgang Radio, Snow Byrds, The Reveres and Sound Stripe.
After counting up all the pennies raised from the unsigned showcase the grand total came to £1,049.32, which has now helped to raise our overall campaign fund to a fantastic £19,000.
