Recycling - with a difference

THE YOUNG at heart are being invited to join in with some festival fun in September.

People over the age of 50 will be able to join in with the Recycled Teenagers festival when it hits venues across Littleborough, Milnrow, Rochdale and Heywood.

Organised and funded by Rochdale Council in association with Link4Life, the festival includes a variety of events that are certain to whet the appetites of the young at heart.

From writing classes and computer sessions, to 10-pin bowling and a Mersey Beat Legends Sixties Night – there will be something for every over 50 to enjoy from Monday 8 September until Saturday 27 September.

Councillor Pauline Maguire, Cabinet member for older people, said: “Whether you’re looking for an easy going learning session or a lively evening of entertainment, the Recycled Teenagers festival will have something for everyone. It’ll be a great way for people to share memorable experiences with friends or even make new ones.

“I look forward to watching everyone having a great time.”

Events are taking place in the Rochdale area between Monday 8 September to Sunday 14 September and in the Pennines area (incorporating Littleborough and Milnrow) from Monday 15 September to Saturday 20 September.

Three detailed Recycled Teenagers event programmes have been produced covering the township areas and are available for free from council customer service centres, libraries, community centres, leisure centres and libraries.
