Search for stolen car driver

A POLICE search was sparked when the driver of a stolen car fled on foot after crashing the vehicle in Whitworth.
The black Rover 620, registration P377 HVC, was stolen from Tyldesley Road, Blackpool, just before 7pm yesterday (Thursday) and was later involved in a collision on Tonacliffe Road, Whitworth, at around 11.50pm that night.
Following the accident, which damaged three other vehicles, the driver of the stolen car fled on foot; police scrambled a helicopter and used police dogs to search the area but were unable to locate the driver.
