Three arrested over armed robbery

THREE people have been arrested following an armed robbery at Lowerplace Post Office.
Two men aged 56 and 52 and a 53-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of theft and perverting the course of justice. They have been released on bail until 22 October.
Police were called after three people wearing high-visibility jackets entered the Oldham Road shop at about 1.20pm on Friday 18 July.
It was alleged they approached members of staff and one of them demanded cash, telling staff he was armed with a gun.
Police are appealing to anyone who was in the post office between 1.30pm and 2.30pm, or anyone with information, to contact them on 0161 856 4646 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
