It's all adding up to a bumper total

LESS than three months into our appeal for Springhill Hospice, the new amount raised to date stands at £10,682.

The total includes £1,000 donated online through the charity website justgiving.co./rochdaleobserver

With some donations still to be registered – and other monies pledged – that amount should soon top £12,000.

For example, our very own Mike Floyd, who works on the sports desk, has embarked on a sponsored slim for the appeal.

Between Mike and Observer reporter Helen Johnson – still collecting her sponsorship money from the Great Manchester Run – at least another £1,000 will be added.

Plus, Lauren Jones and Stephen Pickles, who took part in last weekend’s Manchester to Blackpool sponsored cycle ride, are banking on handing over £500 to the Can You Spare A Minute? appeal.

Please keep the money coming in, particularly your £5 donations. Remember that every £5 you send equates to one minute’s dedicated care for hospice patients at Springhill. And every minute counts

And remember, when you make your donation online, as well as detailing your name and contributiion for our ‘roll of honour’, there’s also a space on the web page for you to comment.
