Foundation head's Malaysian trip

THE chairman of a Rochdale-based organisation travelled to Malaysia to meet a host of international leaders.

Muhammed Umar, from the Ramadhan Foundation, attended a conference in Sabah during a seven-day visit to Malaysia and chaired a debate on globalisation, world peace and harmony, as well as meeting the Malaysian Prime Minister, Datu Abdullah Badawi.

The Ramadhan Foundation has also announced that Mohammed Shafiq has been appointed chief executive with immediate effect. His appointment follows his previous roles as press spokesman.
